Bought some gear from them last year. Guess that was my first and last time doing business with Bike Bandit. My wife does not have the size and strength for two wheels. The Spyder enables her to get out and ride with me and friends of hers that ride... some also on Spyders. My wife's best friend rode a Silver Wing - until she lost part of her leg to diabetes this Winter. She just got her prosthetic a few weeks back and looks forward to trading the Wing on a Spyder and getting back to enjoying friends and riding.

I have two motorcycles - but enjoy taking my wife's Spyder out too. I did so today as a matter of fact. To the author/ web content editor at Bike Bandit, should you see me out on two wheels, please do not wave to me either. I do not care to be associated with someone as shallow as you appear or with your lack of character.

Well after reading this post I will be buying my 2 wheel tires and parts from someone else,
as since I love riding my wife's RTS I'm not cool anymore, I will take my uncool money and business
to another vender from now on. So bikebandit you have lost a long time customer here, not that they
care, but piss off enough people and soon they just might!

Who actually wrote the article? Was he connected or speaking on behalf of bike bandit? I find this very hard to believe. Oh well just remember "opinions are like *******s, everybody has one". Ron White is right,"you can't fix stupid". Go for a ride and do not let these moronic statements bother you.

First: I did not buy a spyder to "be cool", I prefer to ride.

Second: If you are wearing a helmet, then you are probably doing something dangerous.

Third: A harley owner I know asked me one time why I just couldn't go get a Harley like everyone else. to which I replied "Because I don't need to be like everyone else".

Fourth: Wave to everyone while on a ride. You never know which one will be the final mile you make.

And finally: We don't need loud pipes, ryding a spyder draws more attention than riding naked.

I do not know how you guys feel, but I like riding something different, I do not need a machine to prove my manhood, and after having 3 near death experiences in my life the "danger" associated with riding an antiquated and "unsafe" machine seems like a waste of my time.

    Just sayin'...........
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally

I dis like people who say, ?? is no good because they do/ride/operate whatever. I would agree you do need to have a vehicle that will keep up with traffic or find a different way. A 30 MPH max "scooter" should not be on a interstate. What is a scooter though? It would also apply to a motorcyle that could only do 40MPH on a interstate.
It really should apply, but was not doing so. A old S-10 pick up towing a huge boat on a trailer at 38 MPH on a interstate. No flasher of course, level highway. I got trapped by traffice behind him for a couple scary miles. I had my 4 ways and the yellow Bright LEDS, I use on escort misssion for the PGR.
I did get around him and was glad of it.
I think you should ride what you can and have.
To be very blunt about it. I would much rather seen a person ride a 450cc on a side road, then to pull over and help scrape the remains of a macho person off the pavement.
I am off thier list as well
    I am done venting now.

I made the mistake of ordering stuff from them last year. I found out the hard way that their fast delivery guarantee only applied when they received the products I ordered from the manufacturers, which meant 3 weeks of waiting. Their customer service dept. is useless, and when you try to call them they just route you through a computer, forget about talking to a live person. I sent them an email telling them of the lousy service, and they sent a reply thanking me for posting a positive review from them! I wouldn't buy so much as a spark plug from those idiots. That black lab shown on their advertisements has more business sense than that moron who posted the anti-spyder article.

I visited his site, read his tirade and the following responses. This makes me think that if he was "trolling" then:
    a) He got just the response he wanted,
    b) He is independently wealthy and doesn't care,
    c) He wanted to narrow his customer base, and finally'
    d) "Dude, you just screwed the pooch."

It seems like a rather generalized feeling from the 2 wheeler community.

I recently read a facebook post from a motorcycle assosciation asking if their members would consider riding a Spyder: Many responders were just vomiting on the Spyder, on how they thought it looked and on the "fact" that Ski-doo's on wheels should not be on the road... You get the picture.

(for those who read French: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...levant_count=1)

Funny how insecure both communities are: there are quite a few "Do you wave", "Did they wave at you" threads in this forum, and there are many Syder-bashing comments from a 2 wheeler community that outnumbers the 3 wheelers by so much that you would think they would not care and just ignore what they find unattractive.

Why would I care what someone else is driving/riding ?

All I care is HOW they are driving/riding. My life is on the line, regardless if I am on 2, 3 or 4 wheels.

I wave at everybody--even the kids on scooters. Unless their left hand is obviously busy, 95% wave back. I was at a HD dealer today. There was not one single person who dissed me or my Spyder--quite the opposite actually.

    What a knucklehead

Bought my spyder to be different but mainly because I just like the bike and have a blast riding it.

As usual Fred Rau is right there Lets see if there's a you tube conversation about this jack hole .

If you run a business in competion with others, your business is never good enough to to piss off a sizable portion of your potential customer base. If he works for Bike Bandit and he posted this for personal gain, Bike Bandit should have one less employee for multiple reasons. If this was really posted with their concurrence then they deserve every bit of negative feedback and lost business that results from this. However "Everyone has an opinion, most people just don't know where to shove it".

I have personally always waved at everyone too. Around here, about 70% waved back when I was on a Spyder, and about 85% on my motorcycle. There is a small, but noticeable difference in my area.

But on the roadside, in person, it seems harder to Spider-bash than anonymously on the net.

for some reason the net seems to cause bad manners. It would make an interesting social-psychology dissertation.

I expect Bike Bandit can survive without my business in the future and they will have to. I'm sure my BMW, my dirt bike, my wife's dirt bike, and my Spyder will need parts in the future and I expect that I'll be able to find another source for those parts. You know, I don't really care whether Aaron waves at me or not, I just don't want to do business with someone who is stupid enough to make this many potential customers mad.

Sorry guys, but I just find it awkward waving to vehicles on three wheels. I'll admit I'm not a really eager waver in general – but I'll wave to any bike, even scooters, out on the road when the circumstances are right. There's just something about the idea of being on two wheels that is inherently dangerous, that creates a kind of solidarity between you and the other folks on the road taking the risk for the thrill of riding.
But trikes and Can-Ams? So much of the risk is gone there; that sense of freedom, and the danger that goes with it, goes away as soon that third wheel is added. I feel like a part of waving is kind of a mutual recognition of each other’s coolness. But three-wheels are so uncool, it just feels...unnatural. (Don't feel bad though...I'm certain trike and Can-Am riders wave to each other.)

i have their email, service@bikebandit.com..... Let's all email him and educate him about our Spyders ... I was looking to for the one-finger wave icon....and we can do it with both hands!!

I have found several vendors cheaper, and with cheaper shipping than bike bandit. Partszilla and cheapcycleparts are two that have been decent to me.

Personally, I could care less what Bikebandit thinks the "WAVE" etiqutte should eliminate waving to
Trikes and Spyder Lovers. There the ones that will deal with the stupidity of making such a low class
    statement. OH-WELL
