Crazy Question I Guess
Ever since I purchased my Spyder last year I have used the IPS key holder and rarely remove the key. This will be my first trip to SF. I'm not worried about fellow Spyder ryders, but have any of you that have the IPS left your keys in at the hotel or vendor village or at restaurants? I do cover my Spyder at night when on the road.

I agree. Keeping it in overnight makes me uncomfortable even though I cover it with the travel cover. I always take it out at night.

I have a Speedloader pouch that was designed for the .500 Mag. The IPS will just fit inside it!
PM me your mailing address, and it's yours...

Key Cover
Thanks Bob, but I can just take it into my room at night and hide it in my luggage.

Don't assume that just because you will be around other spyder owners that your property is safe, last year at the owners event in the stadium that had spyder owners only .......... some one stole a back rest off another spyder. Take your key with you.

I wouldn't ever want to think that a Spyder Ryder would ever do anything dishonest, especially not a Spyderlover, but last year at the owners event my friend had his backrest stolen in the parking lot at the event. I can just envision it being installed on a john Deere lawn tractor. You just can't be too trusting.

If I am nearby the Spyder and in a secure area, the IPS stays. Otherwise, I put it in the frunk and lock the Spyder with the other key.

Choices choises..!!
Depends on how comfortable you are with the area your in. Two things can happen, they can steal the roadster or they can steal the key. Either one could leave you stranded. I don't have one (IPS) and always carry a spare. They are really nice well made and accent the spyder, but I am not that trusting...but then thats me..!!

The way things are these days, I would not be comfortable leaving the key in the intentionally. There are just to many people that cannot be trusted.
RE: the dirty rotten crook that stole the backrest. May your servicing dealer be incompetent, your overheat, and constantly leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere. Hopefully you will get a full dose of Karma that will pay you back at least a hundredfold.
