I served in the UK military and for a time worked in a small section with one Jeff and two Geoff's. To make it easier to tell between us the first letter of our surnames got tagged onto our Christian names. So we became JeffDee, GeoffWhy and me, GeoffCee. I kinda liked it.

Was a sailor
Now I'm Land Locked. The nicknames I had in the Navy are not generally accepted in 'polite' society...

cybrj
In the late 80's while tooling around AOL via dial up modem, text btw and text only, long distance to Toledo... I needed a screen name lo and behold my name, my initials and any combination was already used... I thought for awhile and started with cyberj or cyberjim it wasn't long before someone else took up the same name convention and I had to remember which site cyberj/cyberjim was me and which wasn't so I shortened it to cybrj and have had little problems since... but I do have trouble with spam filters because there are no vowels in the user name...

Back decades ago in the last century, I was into caving big time. Was a team leader on the largest cave rescue team in the U.S. (it's all NCRC now)
The state of GA couldn't figure out how to get more than six letters on a license plate....thus the spelling CAVMAN. (The 'E' is pronounced....it's just not there)
Had that license plate for over 30 years.

If you two are serious, you need to get a grip and set them straight. The husband should set the course for the household. And that's NOT old school thinking, it's biblical thinking. No wonder our nation is in trouble.
