Spyder Handles (Screen Names)

I sometimes wonder why some folks use long drawn out or hard to speak names on here ???

I chose mine so that when i meet people it is easy for them to remember my (Handle) name at the same time. (although some wish to forget it quickly )

When I bought my Spyder, some of my friends started to call me "Spiderman". So when I tried to get "SpydermanSteve" handle and found it was taken, I added an "r" at the end and the handle "SpydermanStever" became mine.

Carl Mauck, starting center for Houston Oilers for ten years started calling me Chickenhoose while hauling hay together. My dad was from North Dakota using a European asscsent and told me to put hay in the chickenhouse. that was 45 years ago.

Always been easier for people at work(& family) to just shout B. (Brandon) So it stuck & then we applied to my friends & had loads of laughs after MIB came out. To stay in the lead I became B .from.LA. Redneck style, rather than big B ,little b as was starting to happen in our group. A number of other names still apply but was quite rewarding , bout 12years after I left a company my dad was later recuted & lot of former coworkers understood why I was good at what I did when I was there & shared positive stories & such. Even asked if I would come back. Quite unexpected. & let my dad know he taught me right. I just wished he could teach me more.

40+ years in Alaska might have something to do with it. Years back I was out in the field with one of the techs. He responded to radio call, "... Just me and the worm." Okay, that fits - only sometimes - I hope.

Add, occasionally I've been accused of having ice water for blood. Not true, generally its either been stupidity or abject fear that has kept me from reacting.

Your story almost reminded me of a joke...

...and then it did!

A cop stops a Harley for traveling faster than the posted speed limit, so he asks the biker his name.

"Fred," he replies.

"Fred what?" the officer asks.

"Just Fred," the man responds.

The officer is in a good mood and thinks he might just give the biker a break, and write him out a warning instead of a ticket.

The officer then presses him for the last name.

The man tells him that he used to have a last name but lost it.

The officer thinks that he has a nut case on his hands but plays along with it. "Tell me, Fred, how did you lose your last name?"

The biker replies, "It's a long story, so stay with me. I was born Fred Johnson. I studied hard and got good grades. When I got older, I realized that I wanted to be a doctor. I went through college, medical school, internship, residency, and finally got my degree, so I was Fred Johnson, MD.

"After a while I got bored being a doctor, so I decided to go back to school. Dentistry was my dream! Got all the way through School, got my degree, so then I was Fred Johnson, MD, DDS.

"Got bored doing dentistry, so I started fooling around with my assistant and she gave me VD, so now I was Fred Johnson, MD, DDS, with VD.

"Well, the ADA found out about the VD, so they took away my DDS. Then I was Fred Johnson, MD, with VD. Then the AMA found out about the ADA taking away my DDS because of the VD, so they took away my MD leaving me as Fred Johnson with VD. Then the VD took away my 'Johnson', so now, I'm, Just Fred."

The officer walked away in tears, laughing.....
