    Default Blew another rear shock

Took the wife for a 50 mile ride on Friday, but without incident. On the way home, we had to navigate some construction and unfortunately, the temporary roads/crossovers are in terrible shape. As a result, we did some bumping and banging over the imperfections, and I heard it.....bang! Rear shock was either bottoming out or slapping extended. Didn't think much of it at the time, until I woke up on Sat morning, and there I saw it, a puddle of hydraulic fluid right in front of the rear tire. Chalk another rear shock up, this makes 3. Thought of upgrading, but called the dealer and ordered another. The first 2 were on BRP for warranty, this one is on me. Come quick, riding season is here! Any other options out there for the rear?

Elka has one for the rear of the RT but it is pricey... I replaced one stock with stock. About time to replace again.
May just splurge on the Elka at Spyderfest this year.

I had one break on my 2010 RTS but 3 seems crazy. Do they have any idea what is causing this, other than lousy roads?

Anyone ever try an RS shock on an RT? From what I understand the RS shock has more damponing. I run an RT airbag on my RS with the stock RS shock . I only have the shock on the second notch and run 15lbs of air when riding solo and only 30lbs when riding 2 up.

3 is crazy, but like I said before, this is the first one I'm responsible for. Hopefully the dealer will be able to see if there is anything else abnormal causing this. Just gotta wait for the parts.
It does have me questioning if I'm doing something wrong. Here's another question for the low rent A&C crowd with manual air adjustment on the bag...what psi are you running 2up? I generally have about 80-85 psi in the bag when the co-pilot is on. Without revealing too much about the mrs., we are a combined 435 lbs. Thought I was about right. Solo, I drop the bag to 45psi. So...where's everyone at?

Not to sound rude, but you blow out 2 stock shocks and you order another of the same shock?

I think the above post sums up why I went stock again. One bad from initial assembly I'll give the benefit of the doubt to BRP, the 2nd blowing out because of roads....I guess it was just that. If the 3rd goes out quickly, then idk!! I did have 10k on the most recent one.

Default Isn't it unusual to be having this type of problem - repeatedly?

Am I missing something? I was unaware the stock shocks were a problem? I know there are great after-market shocks, but isn't it unusual to be having this type of problem - repeatedly?

I should mention the pressure leaks away overnight and I have to air up again the next day. I'm dumping it at the dealer as soon as they are back in operation. Winter snow collapsed the roof of service area. Seems a bit slow rebuilding it.

Check your valve core, might be loose. Mine used to do the same until I tightened the core.

Interesting, as I believe you can take the air bag to 110psi...regardless, the bag isn't the problem, it's the darn shock!

I also shoot for 85 psi when ryding two up. No leakage or any other problem with the air bag here.
