Never said the contrary. However, he does all of this for the same reason almost all of us do. Its a hobby. Nothing more.
When it isn't fun anymore you shouldn't do it.
There are a LOT of knowledgeable people on this forum, and some that are fun to have around even with the pointless banter.
Sorry, but no one single member is any better than another.

I do dislike the snipeing that has been going on. Sorry Snoopy, but its out of line on this thread. IMO of course.
Ok, I'll stop.
Just no one asked before. lol

But in another sense of the word Scotty is better.
Better at long distance diagnosis.
Better at procedural fixes.
and better at finding answers to off the wall questions.
I don’t think I’m alone in this.
When I read a thread about a mechanical issue I scan all the replies until I see Scotty’s answer.
Which is usually the right answer.

I think that in your efforts to defend your "friend" you totally missed the point......
Nevermind, it's really not that important of a discussion anyway, at least not for me enough to keep commenting....carry on...
Scotty, if you want to be here, many appreciate the help and insight. If you dont, that's cool too......done.

"Missed the point or not";
This place would be much worse off; without him.

This is not why I started this thread. I just was wondering where Scotty was. You guys are off the point.

This statement is so correct. Too many BS replies that are very annoying and lower the quality of this forum.

I know this is "Old School" but, has anyone tried calling him and letting him know that due to his absence he now has his own personal thread and "Fan Club"?

I don't post a lot here, but I had a minor glitch (self inflicted) the other day I posted about, hoping to get some sage advice from members. Didn't get much of a response but what I was really hoping for was the solution and waited for Scotty to post. He never did and I was disappointed, now I know why. I visit here daily and enjoy the site. However, I always looked for Scotty's responses and was amazed at his knowledge about these machines. I truly hope he returns because there are some members that are major assets for the rest of us and he is one of them. PREMIERE ASSET.

He did get injured and his wife was sick too. If you read the Log House post he mentioned it. Maybe he and/or she is under the weather and he has more important things to do. Hope they are doing well and wish them speedy recoveries and returns to the forum.

He's a guy who enjoyed sharing his debth of knowledge in a most articulate and easily understandable way. For that, his reward was the pleasure he derived from sharing that knowledge. Until, one overly dependent person decided to write him a bad check. So to speak.
