    Question Break in ride

    Another newbie question:
The manual say don't ride for long time or distance during the break in period. A two hour, 80 mile round trip, mountain ride, sound good?

Go do it. Just vary the speed.

    Default Speed/RPM's...

Basically you should vary the speed and rpm. How long you ryde is optional. First ryde out we did 400 miles. Several stops for gas lunch coffee. So go out and have a blast..enjoy and be safe..!!

That's the first 80 miles down...
    What about the next 520?
I've been babying mine for the first 400 miles... Now I'll start giving it a few "redline stretches" up to 600...
(I DID bounce it off of the rev limiter, in second and third gears last evening...)

and am also somewhat conservative. I usually do not exceed posted speed limits on the first 500 miles or so. Vary the speeds and gears, don't redline the machine. Brakes and tires also need about a 350 mile break in period.

As far as long trips--Probably do not ride for hours at a time. I would think a tankful is good, and then a break. You should be good.

Remember; a tankful of fuel will now take you an easy 135 miles at a reasonable speed; about three hours of saddle-time...
And if you're on a new RT... figure 200 miles for the 1330...
