Just a wild thought, did you follow the reset process in the Service Manual ??

I am not close to my manual, but there is a sequence of having the key on and then pressing the brake pedal to the first 'click' and further on to the second 'click', and doing something with the key and holding your tongue to the east. I gest, but look in your service manual.

maybe doing the reset will clear this code.

It always helps to put your year and model in you signature so we have a clue about what you are talking about.

you need to hook up to buds to do this.

    Default Let's see..!!

You have checked well. The code indicates a pressure problem. You may have to have the code cleared with the buds system. Do make sure the fluid is well filled. It doesn't take much for the system to toss a code. Might double check the lines make sure there is no air in there..good luck..!!

The 2 switches located directly under your brake reservoir, are normally open switches and activated by a magnet on the bottom of the floats when they get too low. Check to make sure the floats sit just above the channel they sit in. If everything else is ok i would unplug the switches one at a time to see if the failure light goes away and to find which one is the problem. This is usually the root cause of this failure when everything else checks out. These are very easy to get to on an RS but I dont know what you have....

    Lps fault c1282 reset

    1 turn Ignition switch off
    2 wait 30 seconds
    3 turn Ignition switch on
4 firmly press brake pedal untill you hear a click from the LPS switch
Note , the 1 click will come from the brake light switch. Continue to strongly press to hear a 2nd click. This one will come from the low pressure switch
Info from page 700 and 701 from service manual

I had the 1282 for many months till it was discovered that the
culprit was one of the rear brake pads was thinner than the other due to crud on the bar it slides on. Not sure what that bar is technically called, but when you buy OEM rears, you get a new one in the kit. Might be worth pulling the pads and checking that bar; if corroded, wire brush it, and put a VERY TINY smear of moly on.
