    Default Cellphone Interface Kit

    All,
Wanting to have the Cellphone Interface Kit installed on our 2010 RT-S SE5. It requires the Can Am ST - 1 Hybrid Helmut with built in communication system. Anybody know if the J & M Audio Elite headset could be used in place of the Can Am helmut? I appreciate any information regarding this question.
    Thanks,
    Reese

I have the cell phone kit on my RT 2012, it requires the communication harness but not there helmet. We have our own helmets I do have the BRP head set wired into them though, nothing stopping you using another brand as long as it fits the jack.

If you have no particular need for the CB or other features of the BRP comm system, you may want to look at a wired comm system like the Starcom1 or Autocom, or a wireless system like the Sena. These can all be integrated with your cellphone.

The BRP cellphone interface requires a BRP CB radio and communication system, a BRP entertainment harness, and either a BRP or a J&M wired headset. BUT ON A 2010, IT ALSO REQUIRES AN UPGRADE TO A 2011 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. It is not compatible with the 2010 instrument cluster!

Thanks for responding to my question regarding the cellphone kit. The last response killed that idea, not interested in upgrading the instrument cluster.

Most 2010 RT owners with a CB had the cluster replaced/upgraded under warranty due to sticking PTT button.

There are several suitable aftermarket alternatives.
