JT Air filter kit.
This was an easy install on the RS. Pull both center panels, top piece and the right front and your ready to go. I did add the breather for the idle air control sensor. Nicely made and good quality..

Looks good Gene. Are you using a fuel controller?

Have not done any rydes with it installed yet but don't see the need for one. Was running K&N with stock box so change will not be that great. The amount of space you gain is amazing. No wonder it gets so hot in there..

Are you saying removing the complete air intake on the RS wasn't that bad?
Did you have to cut it up?
Just wondering because I think the STS is more similar to an RS than all the RTs that people are saying they are fighting to get them out.

No cutting, just the zips holding some cables. The 6 torx screws that hold the box to the throttle body is the only thing holding the box on. The double snorkle you just push back into the box and it comes out..the right side...quite easy..

Gene,
Thanks for the heads up on the breather filter. I added a note about that on my web site.

If they are fighting them then they are trying to take shortcuts to get that huge box out of there. I got mine out and back in the same day on my RT, it's fiddly but it can be done. You don't think your dealer has to cut it up to get it out for service cause that would be costly.

Thank you, you, that was one of my points...a tech may have to remove and install.

I retrospect, if you undo the horizontal bar, it would likely come out very easy. I didn't want to hassle with that and will not ever put it back in so I pulled the dremel out and got it out BFH style.

I also discovered the you CAN get to the front spark plug without removing that entire box, you just need to remove the front section that has the air filter in it and use a long extension. Of course with the filter box gone its a piece of cake to access it.

I know adding this changes the "sound" a bit on these bikes, would you say it makes a deeper sound? Or just increases the "sewing machine" sound? lol

Having been around engines all my life, the sound of air rushing through the butterflies is a sweet sound. In this case being a twin big bore it is deep throaty sound epecially when your on it then evens out and with a pipe all but disapears...

Just finished my install and I used the stock clamp for breather hose. Great product JT, extremely happy with it! Fast shipping and excellent quality!
