Where do you get the outlet? I have mine hanging out from under the seat and would like a permanent installation also.
I got it from Revzilla because I buy from them somewhat regularly, but you can get it directly from Powerlet also. I got the 48" kit: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/p...let-socket-kit and had my dealership install it to a 10amp accessory fuse so that it's keyed. It also comes with a 15amp in-line fuse, so if you have someone else install it, make sure they put the in-line fuse where you can get to it. My dealership was pretty good about installing it. It took them about an hour (they only charged me for an hour), and they did it when they were doing other service so the tupperware was already off. They also put the in-line fuse where we should be able to get to it without tearing the all the tupperware off. If we open the frunk and take that black panel on the left-hand side, we should be able to get to the in-line fuse.
Now I have the gerbing heated gear but the plug looks like an RCA type of plug... Is this powerlet different than that as it looks like it from the pictures???

The outlet is kind of like a cigerette lighter outlet, only smaller and designed to handle the vibration of a motorcycle. If you go to the powerlet website and read about it, they'll describe it better than I can
You can get a bunch of different adapters for it. I got a powerlet to coaxial adapter for my heated gear, but they also have phone charger/gps/go-pro, etc adapters that you can plug into the powerlet outlet.
What brand is this? And where did you get it? I like the looks of this one compared to the gerbing one but not sure what the inside of the plug looks like from this picture.
I'm sure it is the same as the gerbings. I think all the heat trollers are made by the same company. I found mine on the Warm and Safe website. http://www.warmnsafe.com/dc-coax-jac...ax-plug-cable/ i have the Powerlet RapidFire gear and it fits my harness.
Love my
Statistics show that most motorcycle accidents are caused by a defective nut holding the handlbars.

I ordered one and it does fit Gerbings. It came quickly, and its a nice quality product.
