eco mode
Finally tried a tank of fuel while not in eco mode. Made a difference of 10% in fuel mileage--to the better!
Haven't had the engine over 4000 rpm yet- 125kph

Now that I have about 1200 miles on the 2014, I am following Bob's suggestions on shifting at 2500 - 2700 rpms. It seems like I am shifting way to soon, BUT, it works and the does not seem to be lugging.
I am thinking it is like driving some of those 18 wheelers where they seem to shift every couple of seconds--due to the low rpm range.
In four tanks of gas, I got 37 mpg on the first two, and 38 mpg on the second two. Tomorrow, I fill again and check the mileage.
I am planning on running up to 2000 miles shifting the way I have been. After 2000 miles, I am going to try shift points at 3000 rpms and see what happens. I am interested in power band/fuel economy results. Time will tell.

Don't know yet how much it affects fuel economy. There are other members doing that testing currently and it will be interesting to see how driving style affects mileage and your level of enjoyment. newbie here and checking out past threads, I shift my F3 no less than 4K and don't cruise less than 3K, I had a Triumph 1050 3 cylinder much like the 1330, mileage was worse with shifts less than what I use with the 1330 so I'm using it for my guide line

Eco mode is a pain------------. I much prefer to keep my eyes up and on the road. Shifting between 3,500 and 4,552( ) RPM's seems good for average riding. ( what ever that is ). Running the motor up to 7k once in a while won't hurt anything. Not exactly a V-Max on boost though
