The camera is loaded with fresh batteries... leaving in a half-hour!
This will be cathartic; I'm welcoming a new addition to the family... and leaving a very good friend behind for the last time...

Glad it/he/she is finally coming home.
Saw your 24 degrees & thought, wow, there having great weather in NY, then the penny dropped.
It's so windy here today you wouldn't even consider riding.

I had to say "G'Bye" to an old friend today too...
They say that you can like somebody for their strengths; it's their weaknesses that will make you love them.
I feel the same way about motorcycles.
I've owned a lot of them in thirty-five years; I've only loved a very few...
My 1983 Gold Wing Interstate... that weak-kneed, underpowered,head-shaking thing carried me for over 50,000 miles...
There was a 1989 TransAlp... too funky for it's own good, yet it STILL did everything pretty darn well!
A 1982 Suzuki GS450TX a real cheap little tooter that I turned into a pretty capable touring rig. Small and underpowered; I put over 10,000 miles on that bike in one year... the most ever for me!
And then there's Fawkes... He's had a deposit put down on him... I hope; no... I wish that he brings the lucky folks that get him at least half the happy memories that he brought to me and Kathy... Folks told me that he had no low-end power, that he'd empty his battery of electrons in about a day and a half, that the clutch plates would melt, that he revved too high, and that he might set my foot on fire...
And not a bit of that mattered; nor did it ever happen!
So I went looking for him... and found him in the dark...
I guess that i'm just an old softie The pictures are blurry because my hands were shaking, and I had something in my eyes...
