simple answer is yes, your dealer can do it but may be a little pricey.

others on here may have other avenues to get one.

Your dealer can cut and program a spare key for $60 or $70. If you lose your only working key it will cost $800 to a $1,000 to fix. So get a spare key made.

There WAS a fella in Hawaii that would clone your key onto chipped blanks that he had...

    Default Here's what you do..!!

you can order blanks online. Then go to a kwick keys shop and have them clone your key. Many key shops carry the blanks and can do all the work but a little more expensive. Mine ran about $35.00..

I bought a bunch of these so I could have a spare to open the trunk.
I got some extras in case some of my Spyder friends needed one too.

Yes, they all have a chip and a 2014 key is different than a 2013 and below, different chip.

Is that an Ilco blank? If so, what's the blank number?

    Default Cloneable key part numbers

Here is the info I have for cloneable keys.

    Ilco/Silca - ZD23RT5
    JMA -
    TP05ZA-9.P

    Blanks without a chip.

Ilco/Silca - X270 (Grind the corners off for some Spyders)

Here is a link to a inexpensive seller of blanks.

I make no recommendation for this seller I have never bought from them.

A clone key does not need to be programmed to the Spyder. It will look no different to the Spyder electronics then the original key. See link for more info.

Thanks for the info. What I'm thinking of doing is getting one of those cut and hiding it on the bike somewhere accessible, and then hiding the cloned chip key inside one of the trunks like maybe behind the battery cover, or maybe under the seat under some of the plastic. I can use the non-chip key to get into the trunk and then retrieve the real key to drive with.

I hid a spare key inside the floorboard on my 'wing and carried a hex key in the unlocked storage pocket. I figured if someone found the hex key and decided to look for the spare key they'd probably be caught by the time they would have found it!

Of course, there's always the chance one would do the same thing my brother did. He locked his keys inside his pickup at the gas station pump so I had to go to his house and find a spare and take it to him. As soon as he opened the door he remembered there was a spare key behind the bumper!

I do the same thing... keep a dummy key accessible for when I throw the Spyder key in my jacket pocket...
...and then throw my jacket; in the frunk!
I'm also going to track down a couple of spare "live" keys too!

Just ordered a key with chip for my 09 gs, dealer said it would be 25$ to program
That seemed reasonable to me, key cost me 24$
