    Default Mode button not needed

Sometimes after a stop, the starting of spyder does not need the mode button step, goes straight to start screen, has this happened to anyone else, or is this spelled out somewhere in the manual. THIS HAPPENED TWICE TODAY, BOTH WERE SHORT STOPS SAY 15MIN

This is normal on my two Spyders, and it's normally about 5 minutes, not 15. I can generally get a fuel stop complete if I don't fool around and take extra time, before I have to hit the Mode button to restart.

Default It is supposed to happen that way

I guess BRP gives us credit for remembering all of the safety instructions for at least a little while.

Same here. I can do a gas stop and not need the mode button to re-start. As mentioned, 15 minutes does seem like a long time.

Yea, I usually get a gas stop in and can then go without mode screen. Wish there was a way to do away with the mode screen altogether.

Never use the mode switch on a simple Gas stop, combine a bathroom break and a beverage and I am back to the Mode button

Has anyone noticed that you can start your spyder without hitting the mode switch? I did it once be accident. I've not had the nerve to try it again though.

Owners manual clearly states "5 minuets" after that the mode button becomes needed again.

I kinda like it in that it's one more thing for someone trying to steal the bike to figure out.

It's obviously a courtesy thing in the overall design. The computers don't shut off for about five minutes (minuets? ) after turning the key off. This lets you do a quicker "warm" start after a short shutdown, but once the computers do shut off, you're forced back into a "cold" start, i.e., a full reboot of the computer(s).

Sure, it could have been more than 5 minutes, but remember the computer system and all its sundry attachments are still sucking that teat on the battery, so how long do you trust that?
