    Default Very first 2007 Spyder

I was wondering if anyone remembered:

    1. What was so good about 2007 Spyder (one specific feature or a list of those) that BRP wouldn't dare to "improve?"
    2. Why it was so good, and is it still present on my 2012 rts-se5, or was it "modified" so much that it is no longer there?

    Just askin'

I believe that 2008 was the year of the first . They were in the magazines in fall of 2007 though. That was what got me interested in the brand.

    Question

Was there a prototype prior to that in 2007?

They had a 2007, they just didn't let anyone in Arkansas know about it.

Thanks. Those are interesting facts, and in addition to those from the same source:

    Sales

By October 2007, approximately 2,500 units had been sold.By May 2009, 12,500 Spyders (9,932 of them sold in the United States) had been manufactured. Approximately 21 percent of its sales are to women. In addition, some 27 percent of Spyder owners have never previously owned a motorcycle.

    Default Regardless..!!

Of when...many of the original systems are in the roadsters today. Some have been updated but your ECM, VSS, DPS, ABS, etc. The RT was not introduced till 2010 but still had all the basics of the GS/RS. The motor has been the same till 2014. They have a good product so changes are slow...

Ours is a 2008. What I remember ,and I am old, is that they were available in 2007 but in limited number of states. Pa. did not get them until 2008.

I have a long distance friend that has a 2007. I have no proof that it is an 07 but that is what he told me. I questioned him and said they did not come out until 2008 and he stood firm and flat out told me it is an 07. Either way he loves it and continues to ride it and has no plans to replace it at this point in time.

Default First production models were 2008s

The first production models for sale were 2008 models, this is what was delivered to those who placed orders in 2007. Jay Leno got #001 as part of doing the dealer intro at Miramar Air Force Base at San Diego. The BRP museum in Valcourt got #002. The CEO of BRP got #003. The two engineers on the Spyder patent got #004 & #005. I bought #006, that was in December of 2007. There were of course prototypes before that for many years, but none were officially offered for sale.

2021 RT Limited - Deep Marsala Red – 4,200 miles

    2013 ST-S SE-5 - Circuit Yellow – 56,000 miles

    2015 F3-S SM-6
    - Can-Am Red Solid Gloss – 2,000 miles - SOLD

    - Full Moon – 34,000 miles - SOLD

    2008 GS SM-5 Premier Edition #006
