Haven't been on the site in a while and started reading through this thread again. I have a 13STS in the magnesium color. I haven't changed my panels yet, because I was hoping for my color to become available and/or "kits" to become available making it idiot proof to order. Does anyone know if either one of these things have happened? Thanks

    Magnesium parts are # 219800341 & 219800342

Couldn't find it on their site yet.

Any Can Am dealer would have them also, but I think at a higher cost.

    Default Ordered panel!

Title should say, Ordered panels! Not panel!
Thanks to the "Kit" parts numbers that Lamont posted. I finally ordered my panels today for my 2013 STS magnesium Spyder from my dealer. I was thrilled that I could order in the color I needed and I was pleasantly surprised with price, $637 including tax. Should be here by late week.

Does sound like a good price, I was quoted well over a $1000 back when I started this journey....

    Default New panels

Interesting, it seems everyone is getting different prices on these kits, my local dealer quoted $333.99 per kit with tax included, so $667.98 for both and that's BRP's retail price, not what the dealer pays for them, I know I'll get a discount of 15% so I'll at least get $100 off, they should be in this week.

Yea so did I! I just kept hoping they'd offer them in my color and offer a kit. Thank God it happened with a price break.

Default What is the result of this mod???

    Elegant solution, simple and inexpensive.

    What is the result?

Is there a noticeable difference in the heat level under the panels?

Up here in Michigan, the heat is not so much of an issue, at least summer 2014, cooler than normal.

Still getting stuck in the city traffic is no fun, your brainstorm looks like the correct solution for me.

I wish I could agree but while the heat levels on the two replaced panels has changed, there seems to be considerable heat still at the forward edge of the panel not replaced on the side at the lower left calf just above the ankle.

Me too but I just partially closed the hole it was coming from with black duct tape - tried all the way but panels started heating up again so opened it up some. I also wear half chaps. Love my new panels.

I have noticed some heat on the right side during stop and go or very slow traffic .....but I always wear high top leather boots ...so that helps some......plus my legs are really short and I probably sit closer up than most....my seat has been moved forward 2 inches....maybe that is the difference.....you know the new panels have improved the heat 90%....for me

Don't get me wrong, there is a difference on the highway, it's just the start stop stuff that still bugs me. But with all the good folks here I'm sure I'll find some good solutions to help control the remaining heat. JT's air filter maybe, some holes cut out underneath to help let the hot air escape, etc. not sure I'm ready to remove the cat. I do love the new panels though, especially since BRP covered the expense and they look cool!

I haven't removed the cat yet and mine is pretty decent in light traffic/stop and go.

My only real heat is if I try to use my foot on the right side peg while moving slow, direct blow off of the radiator.

    Default Panels

I was having zero success communicating via email with BRP care on a couple of issues.

Contacted a great dealer and have the issues resolved.
One of them being the new 2014 panels for our 2013 ST provided by BRP.

I had 0 success trying to deal with BRP but going to the great dealer I have here in Toronto and having them deal with BRP got me my new 2014 panels on order, just waiting now and seeing how much of an improvement it will be. I am also thinking about taking the 2 lower plastic panels off if necessary also.

I finally received the new panels from my dealer and I installed them. They look great! Is it normal procedure for the dealer to keep the old ones? I questioned him and he said it's an exchange. How did it work out for you guys?

My new panels were installed this week by my dealer. They kept the old ones. All covered under BRP warranty.

I'm a very happy spyder owner.
