+Hippos with good gloves are fine for me, or with snowmobile mittens in the true winter.
Ride on.

SkiDoo Gauntlets for snowmobiles. They are not expensive and may be worth a try.
I use gauntlets on my snowmobile. Cuts the wind and keeps the warmth in.
I always keep a pair in my frunk, incase it gets too cold.

Gerbings Heated Stuff works Great
I like to ride in the winter. People see the Spyder more since it is usually the only bike on the road, so it helps with safety also. I have heated insoles, pants, jacket liner and gloves so stay warm no matter what the temp. You do have to be a little careful with the wires, but the Gerbing stuff has it set up pretty well so they are easy to manage. A variable heat controller is a must. The biggest challenge is getting all of the stuff on so you can ride.

Try coming a few states north in the winter and style won't matter so much when it's below zero wind chill.... frozen nutz 002.jpg

I am not worried about style, need something to keep fingers warm. My fingers tend to get cold a lot faster than the rest of my body.

I just installed these "Bikemaster" Heated grips (7/8) to replace the Hot Hands Velcro grips I used before on My 09 GS.
They are only $54 are work great- 5 Different levels and are as Good or better than the Stock RT heated Grip for warmth and there are 5 different levels. The grips themselves are slightly BIGGER than the stock GS/RS Grip and more comfortable!!!
The reviews on the Link bear out what I,m saying.

I was thinking about this, what about installing those hard plastic deflector handguards like atvs and dirtbikes have?

I just installed these Heat Demon pads under my Kuryakyn grips last week. I was skeptical at first as I have never tried heated grips before but I think this is one of my absolute favorite mods so far... And Ive done A LOT of mods to my Spyder.
Granted, its not really cold yet but so far Im impressed. For true winter I have some Hippo hands that should work great with these.

Gerbing heated gloves is the way to go with the heated liner to keep the core body temp up. Your hands will stay warmer also. Gerbing makes a panel plug which requires a 1/4 inch hole very neat install. Or you can just hang the power cable out under the seat.

I hooked up an HD temp control to my battery, ran it under the seat, mounted the controller to the top plastic under handle bars, the hook up wire goes straight to the HD gloves and presto warm hands.
