    Default 2012 RT

When I bought my new 2012 RT s, I wondered if I made a Mistake by not buying a 2013.
After reading about the problems some are having with 2013's I am glad I choose to buy the 2012. I couldn't be more pleased with my Spyder. It is a very fine machine. I have enjoyed it more than any vehicle I have owned. I ride it as much as I can when I can. Thank you BRP. For a wonderful machine.

    Default 2012 RT A&C

me four! been to Copper Mountain, Sedalia, and Maggie Valley and only missed a beat once on the way back from Co in West Texas, didn't know to remove the key and walk away for a little bit then. a water pump, front pads, on 3rd set for rears now, rear tire Michelin Hydroedge, and too many farkles but turned 21k miles last night since spring 2012 when I bought it. Spyderpops block off plates helped a LOT though, as well as removing the splash pans, and now using Harveys additional heat deflector goes on the right plate.
    2012 RT A&C bought new 42312 sold July 2018 56k miles currently driving a 2014 RTSE6 LTD bought October 2018 w 6800 miles nicely farkled

So far; it appears that 2012 has been the most trouble-free model year...

Not all Spyders have the concers or issues posted here . Great group of people and plenty of info. Be careful , it is easy to want to add Mods, I think it might be a virus (:

Hear, hear! I am also very satisfied with my 2012 RT. I'm glad it was the last of its particular type- and figure that by 2014 or 2015 most of the kinks will be worked out of this variation of RT. It is good to have a later year of this type!

You did good. 2012 seems to be the least troublesome year. It seems like the luck of the draw on 13's.

.....Bought my 2012 RT A&C SE5 back in April. I've put about 2,700 miles on the "Silver Bullet" with ZERO issues! I have however, come down with a severe case of Farkleosis...

    LOVE MY SPYDER!!!

I got my 2011 RTSM5 Aug20,2011. Almost 36,000 miles of smiles. Few relatively small matters along the way, but never missed or cancelled a ride for any reason.
Lots of folks have bad great experiences with their Spyders. The nature of a forum like this is that you normally get all the bad stuff and little of the good. I have done my share of negative remarks, but try to inject the overall satisfaction in most posts.
Have a good one and hope to see y'all on the road sometime

I'm glad ya'll are having good luck with your '12s, but quite frankly, after the first couple weeks and the ball joint replacement, I am having the same kind of experience with my '13 RT! I don't have alignment problems. She doesn't overheat or throw codes. I don't tend to boil gas. I have enuf power and get 30mpg. She is plenty capable in the curves, tho I admit to being a touring rider and not a performance guy. I wouldn't mind if BRP came up with an idea to throw a little of the right foot heat somewhere else, but I don't get 3rd degree burns! So far, she is fun and reliable. I hope BRP comes up with some solutions so NOT all the '13s get hosed in the marketplace, i.e. trade-in or resale. I look forward to improvements from BRP in both the machine and dealer network.

    Here's hoping,

    Loren

    Default Don't qualify..!!

we have an 2012 RS sm5 and now have 11,000+ wrinkle free miles on it. We are a minority here but the base is the same. We have a lot less to go wrong on these roadsters until we farkel beyond their limits...!!
