Mine did that. The cause was cracked vacuum hoses. Had those replaced and all was good.

There are quite a few threads on this subject in the forums. It seems to be an issue with newly purchased Spyders during the break-in period. We had that problem from the first few miles until the 100-200 mile range. We are up to 800 plus miles now and have not had it happen since. Spyder service centers claim it is normal break-in for a tight motor like the Rotax. I have other ideas on why it is caused. Could it be related to the computer adjusting to the rider(s)???

Considering recent posts about stalling. Pre 2013 stalling problems are likely different from what 2013 owners are experiencing. At least it appears so at this point in time.

    Default Let's see..!!

if it is happening all the time have it checked out. Vacuum line can be cause but if once in a while could be other reasons many which clear up with continued use..

    Default Same Problem

In my case, the coil was grounding out causing it to die at idle. New coil, no problem.

My bike stopped twice before I reached the 600 mile mark. Both times it was in stop and go (mostly stopped) traffic in the DC area, in 105 degree heat. It hasn't happened since, and I've ridden in 112 degree heat, with 8000 miles on the bike now. What really irritated me is when I reported the stoppage to the dealer, all they could tell me was shift to neutral when I'm stopped in traffic. They didn't bother testing the bike or anything. To be fair, I had no codes for them to read, but this is the same dealer that takes 2 weeks just to change the oil. Coleman PowerSports in Woodbridge, VA.

Lots of possible causes. Typically a bad spark plug wire or a bad vacuum hose. Time to have it checked out by a competent and dedicated technician.

Judging by your fenders my guess is yours is not a 2013, if that's the case it could be many things like Scotty says. Might be time to see your dealer if it happens often.
