Default Sway Bar Heim Joint Link - Custom Replacement

I am in the process of making 50 sets of high quality, steel Heim Joint Links as a direct replacement for the OEM links that have been failing. I hope to have them ready to ship sometime next week for (I am estimating about $65.00 a set delivered).

Links will be completely assembled and come with everything you need for the simple install. They must be replaced as a set (both sides).

If you are interested please email me at fyredad@hotmail.com (just click on this link)l. PM's are not searchable and with the volume I get it is difficult to track you down that way.

I have no idea what the demand will be so 50 sets may go quickly, or I may have them laying around for years collecting dust.

I will notify you when these are ready to ship and shipping will be 1st come, 1st served.

These are going to be nice units with a lifetime guarantee and full refund if you are not satisfied with them. (Please call the wife's unlisted phone number if you're not happy with my products! )

Yes, that is the plan. The 2013 set may come with a few different kit parts than the pre-2012 sets, but regardless, they will be plug and play.

That's a very good price and barely more than what it would cost for the NAPA links & parts with tax & shipping. You get the expertise of the Swaybar Master near free!

What kind of failures are you seeing? Is the plastic getting loose, or is it breaking without warning?

Wyliec is correct. All years and models of the Spyder have the same, identical link. The difference is in quality as some of the 2013's seem to have weak links.

I believe I will be including different mounting parts in the 2013 kits because the upper portion of the link attaches differently, but the links themselves will be identical.

Both are happening. I have not experienced a link failure and I've been running a stiffer bar than what I sell (one of my prototypes that I was afraid was just too stiff for most riders). I ride fairly hard so I feel like I've been giving my links a good workout. I took them off last week when I started in on this link project and found that the balls are getting loose in their sockets. I can't actually feel any slop but I can't put the stress on them with my hands that the bar does.

These links are naturally going to be wear items whether you have the stock or custom bar installed. Stress and wear will understandably be greater with a custom sway bar installed.

If there is any slop between the ball and socket it will allow the bar to shock the link in transitional situations. This will quickly lead to total failure in the area surrounding the ball (which is what we are seeing in most cases). Most of these failures have been sudden (which is to be expected), but riders report no handling issues or hazardous results.

One other thing of note is that I've been getting calls from 2013 owners saying that when they checked their links they found that the balls were extremely tight or even locked up in their socket. One owner said that one of his links was actually twisted out of shape. The balls can have some resistance but you should be able to move them in their socket with your fingers. If they are too tight the link will fail. This may have something to do with the recent rash of link failures in the 2013's. If you have a 2013 you might want to check on this.

You can loosen them up with a lubricant like WD-40. Be sure to wipe them off so you don't attract a lot of dirt. And I don't recommend just squirting a load of your favorite lubricant onto the ball joint area with these links mounted. The only way you're going to be able to properly check and lube these links is to take them off and get them into your hand.
