    Default Manual Fan Switch

Has anybody installed one? Is there a write up on how to install?

Sounds like a possibility. I do not recall anyone installing such a feature--?? If the is working properly--there should be no need for a manual swith as the cooling fan is supposed to go on when a certain temperature is reached.

I had a 1984 V65 Magna that would overheat in slow moving traffic and installed a manual fan switch for that very reason. But the Spyder hasn't showed any signs of over heating in slow moving traffic even with the temps in the mid 90's. Most of the time its right at 3:00 and the highest I've seen it was maybe around 2:00.

I installed one on my '08 GS approx 5 yrs. ago, and use it everyday, not only while riding, at times, but also when I shut the bike down, after pulling into the garage. (Works for me, but to each his own )

Yes, I agree if everything is working fine then the fan should kick on but we all know heat is a killer for engines after amount of times. I would like to have the choice of being able to turn on the fan if I wanted to! Didn't know if somebody had done it and if they had, how did they do it.

Default I want a fan switch also

I know the more learned folks on this forum say it simply ain't needed and they quoted the exact temp fluctuation and all that, but dang it, it bothers the heck out of me to see that needle rise so quickly at stoplights. I want the option to hit the switch before it starts rising. Roger makes it sound fairly simple, but messing with electrics is not my thing.

If theres anyone in the central N.C. area who knows how and would do mine, please let me know.
