Default Air Horn on Spyder RT Ltd.

Has anybody mounted an air horn of the new 2013 RT Ltd? If so, what brand, model, where did you put it? Sometimes it is necessary to let people know you are there.

The Stebel Nautilus is the "Mac Daddy" of noise.
GeoffCee wrote up a nicely detailed set of instructions on how to do it; the RIGHT way!
I think that it's in the DIY section...

It's always good to read and study someone else's efforts. However, since the battery on the 2013 RT is located up front there isn't room to install the horn up front as GeoffCee did. No room for an additional fuse box for additional farkles either. I, as yet have not figured out my horn install either.

I have the Stebel Nautilus on my '13 RT. I bought the horn and the wiring kit to make it basically plug-n-play. I mounted it where the original horn was.

    My pics are here: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...Honk-If-You-re

The hardest part was removing all the tupperware to get access to the horn.

I bought a Stebel Nautilus and had a Can-Am dealer put it on, in place of the OEM one. My horn went from meep-meep to Beep-Beep. I am not satisfied. Maybe they installed incorrectly, or something, but it's almost an embarrassment. I had a guy pull in front of me on my way back from Lamont's last week or so. When I need to alert someone to my presence (i.e. my life is in peril) I want the horn to go WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!

I want them to think an oceanliner is bearing down on them. I am looking into marine or trucker's horns mounted deep in the 'ram scoop' of the front Tupperware, pointed forward. Anyone go that route?

    Default Horns

I installed a set of Rivco Magnum Electric horns,
    http://www.rivcoproducts.com/product...cat=260&page=1,
You also need the installation kit which is 40 bucks,
    http://www.rivcoproducts.com/product...cat=435&page=1

There as loud as a large car which is a lot better then the Roadrunner horn it had, it installs under the right fog lamp, you don't have to drill anything you use pre exsisting holes and slip nuts, all the hardware for mounting on the Spyder is included in the kit, basicaly disconnect the stock horn, attach the supplied extention to the wire , hook up to the new horns relay, power from the battery through the supplied fused wire, install took me about 2 hours.

    Default Waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!

I put a Stebel Nautilus air horn on my 2012 RT and it makes a significant noise! I have definitely blown 18 wheelers away when they wanted to get up close and personal in the same space as me. Great investment! Safety farkle! You can get these and the wring harnesses for a reasonable rate at Amazon.com

    Let's resurrect a thread today!

So, anyone have an OOGA horn on their Spyder F3?

I got the attention of a dude in a high lift 4 x 4 pickup the other day when he tried to run over me. I have the Wolo trumpet horns on my '14 RTS. Here's how I installed a set on the 2013 RT I had. On the '14 I put the compressor behind the grill on the left side. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...hlight=trumpet

That's what I have. Not as loud as a trucker's horn but a definite improvement over the OEM.

Definitely something wrong with the installation.
There is a SIGNIFICANT increase in volume over the stock horn.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

I recently installed a Stebel on my '15 RTL, when I tested it after install it sounded more like a vibrator than a horn. I switched the connectors and found that I had reversed the polarity - it worked fine after that.

Stebel is the way to go,make sure you use a relay so you don't overload the circuit.

Default Is this everything I "need"?

    Hi Everybody,

If I bring this single kit (link below) to my local dealer, does it have everything needed to install a louder horn? I'm just trying to avoid buying insufficient parts for the task.

    Thanks!
