Default loosening spring preload on Elkas???

I changed my oil yesterday for my 6,000 mile Spyderfest ride. When I received my Elkas, I decided I wanted a bit stiffer feel and at Len's instruction, I turned the red spring collar three turns tighter. While on the lift, I decided to loosen the spring preload on my Elkas since adding the new sway bar and after loosening the set screw, I couldnt budge the red collar! I even bent it trying to adjust?! Argh, hope to have someone help out at the event.

Any clues on getting that bugger to move?

Interested in this one! I've not yet touched the preload on mine; but I know that it could be softened up significantly...

Are you sure that the set screws are completely out of the way? I'd be tempted to remove them and use the holes as a spot to spray in some good old WD40!

just spray a small amount of wd-40 or triflow on the threads. That is what i had to do. That will help out and let the collar turn much easier. Just make sure you have loosened the set screw first...

If you loosen the set screw too much the collar can jump the threads.
    Any spray lube should help.
