    Default NC Helmet law...

The helmet law in North Carolina may be changing. The House Transportation Committee has approved legislation to allow riding without a helmet. It now goes to the House Judiciary Panel. If passed, the law would allow adults 21 and older to ride without a helmet if the have had a motorcycle license or endorsement for one year, completed a motorcycle safety course and have insurance covering $10,000.00 in medical benefits.

Stay tuned for more details. Let the comments begin

Most everyone knows where I stand. ATGATT. However--if someone chooses to ride without, and it is within the law--that is surely their choice.

I will not ride without a helmet. Just how I am. I will not infringe on anyone else's choice.

Same here, I like my helmet. But if someone wants to ride without it, that is there decision not mine.

One question though, will motorcycle insurance rates go up? Or is just the health insurance that is going to take the hit?

    Just sayin'............
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally

    Just sayin'............

Maybe NC needs more organ (s) donors?? Funny how the terms Nazi, Socialist etc are so mis-used!

$10K doesn't seem much to cover head injuries in a hospital. Should run through that on the first night in emergency.

Statistics proved that most accidents happen within two miles of your home, so i moved away from your home.

    Default Here we go again

Wear a helmet or don't, it's your choice and your life. We don't have a choice up here, so never get worried about it. When I go south I keep mine on. My life, so I choose what's right for me. Your life so you choose what's right for you. All things being equal in a crash, chance of survival with helmet are better. They are not called donor cycles for nothing.
