Default Don't drag the Boss 302!

Humbling experience. Now keep in mind it's Florida and we have roads with stop lights and no driveways so dragging is somewhat safer than you may think. Plus 60 mph isn't even speeding so 0 to 60 is perfectly within your legal limits. Harleys like to drag - haven't lost yet. Corvette - no way would I drag a Corvette. Not the new Camaros either and definitely not a Ninja. But a Mustang? I'm thinking this should be doable. Didn't see the Boss 302 on the side until it was too late. He got half a length on me and I just couldn't close it. Losing a drag isn't good for our image so beware of what's written on the sides of these cars. Some pack a real punch!

The Spyder does OK, but it isn't all that quick. There are a lot of things out there that can take us in a drag race. But when it comes to Fun Factor, we leave them all in the WEEDS!

Lots of fast stock cars and trucks out there... Much less the modified ones. The Ricers are the only ones that you have the best chance of beating... Usually just all stickers and fart cans.

I put the wifes SS Impala against a Charger State Police Cruiser. Beat the snot out of the trooper until the Charger finally hit top gear.

I liked those Boss motors. Very tough! We ran a modified Boss 351 in this one.

When i did street race, B.A.H. [before adult hood] I would never beat the other guy by more than a foot or two,
We would call that sandbagging, If you beat your opponent by too much he wouldn't race you again.
Oh bye the way' we raced for money, So you wanted him to think he'll get you the next time.

IMHO, any adult caught street racing should have their license suspended for a good, long time.

    BTW, Camaro's are pony cars.

Ahhh... If only we can outlive our youth...

But; as an insurance agent; streetracing should carry a different level of penalties than mere speeding...
It's all lots of fun until an innocent family gets put in a ditch, or worse!

We used to have a quarter mile "unauthorized" track in front of a house that we owned...
Until the inevitable head-on collision killed a whole bunch of people.

A quick jump at a red light is hardly street racing. And I always back off when I hit third gear and don't even get 10 over the speed limit so unless the cop is having a real bad day he would just chuckle and look the other way.

The way I see it, two things were working against you.....

    1. You were not on a RS
    2. It was not yellow

As soon as you posted this, I knew someone was going to give you grief about street racing...... You will get him next time.

Default Don't drag the Boss 302!

I let a Mazda 3 blow my Tupperware off last week. Does that count? Seriously though, every ricer in town wants to race me. It's pretty annoying. I give them the race posture and a little throttle and they pull away pretty satisfied thinking they blew away a bike. Too bad they never hear me not shift into second over their fart can exhaust! The RT can hold its own. Maybe not against one of the pony cars, but its no slouch. I just don't need to prove it. More than a ticked off cop and toe tapping insurance agent, it's the explaining to my wife part I most worry about.
