full face vs half vs beenie helmet
I know this has been done to death on other sites, but I cannot find any info on helmets on this site.
On my 2 wheels I wore mostly full face helmets, but on spyder I have been wearing beanie style.
I would love to know what others wear and why.
I am debating on going back to ff

I wear a fullface for 2 reasons. 1) for the protection. 2) I have a scala rider g4 and I like to listen to the radio and there is to much noise with the half helmet.

3/4 HJC
3/4 Shoei

FULL OR 3/4 FACE
I wear either a full face or a 3/4 face helmet determined by the weather for protection. I never wear a beanie or skid. Why? Because people who know a lot more than I do have told me that you get more protection from a beanie or skid sitting on a shelf than you do with one sitting on your head.

I am a firefighter/EMT and live 1/4 mile from a biker bar. Not 100 yards from my house is a 25 mph "S" curve. I see my fair share of bikes bounce off the guardrail, low-side, fly into the creek, and high-side into the trees. I do not call them Beanies, I call them "Brain Buckets". Even if you do hit hard enough to sustain a head injury with a full face helmet, leaving the helmet on can reduce the swelling and/or bleeding in your brain. This will give you a much better chance of, not only surviving the wreck, but also not being a vegetable afterwords. I ride with a full face helmet, all the time.
Just sayin'.................

Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally

I wore a three quarter helmet, (and glad I did) but will be buying a full face type. Had a head on car crash on my two wheeler, the three quarter now needs to be replaced.

Full face for me, mostly for the protection. I'm thinking about going modular though. I downed my VFR Interceptor several years ago trying to avoid a car crossing in front of me at a busy intersection. To make a long story short, the bike was totaled and my protective gear is what saved me from road rash. When I hit the pavement my full face helmet was all scuffed on one side and was ruined. Better the helmet than my head and face.

ATGATT is me, has worked for over 60 years.
I wear a Shark modular. Made overseas, meets their standards and ours. It is designed to look okay with chin up or down. Bar locks in place, supposed to cleared to race in Europe. Pul down clear and sun visors. Bar Down most of the time, up for slow hot rides, parades or slow escorts for PGR Missions.

full face modular
I use a full face modular myself your head can get just as messed up
on two wheels as you can on three wheels if you have a get off...
how much do you value your face ?

What you wear depends on what you think your head is worth. IMO a full face is the only way to go.
-
I wear a modular full-faced helmet because if I crash, I want my helmet scrubbing on the pavement, not my face.

Local news today
A 58 y/o motorcyclist was thrown from his 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
According to Highway Patrol, a pickup truck did not yield to cross traffic and struck the cyclist.
Both vehicles were moving 'at or slower' than the 25-mph posted speed limit.
The cyclist however, was wearing a “novelty” helmet and may not have been in compliance with state traffic safety laws, according to the Highway Patrol.
He was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries and later died.
Names omitted.

Full Face Modular
I always wear my full-face modular. It is really convenient to flip up at the gas station or at slow speeds when it is hot, and yet provides good protection. I had a silvered shield for it, but after the first two scratched, almost by just looking at them, gave up and went to a dark smoked shield, which is working out just great. Someone once asked how much a person should spend for a helmet. The answer was: "If you have a $10 brain, go ahead and buy a $10 helmet." Gets the message across. By the way, I had a rock strike on my Clearview windshield on a previous bike, which destroyed the windshield. I don't know if the helmet shield would have stopped it, for sure. When you are riding the Spyder, you are looking over the shield, so you are somewhat exposed to a rock (or bird, or big bug) strike. It always makes me wince when I see riders with NO shield or even eye protection. My previous wife and I were riding our bike with 3/4 helmets with bubble shields one day. She was struck and stung by a bee next to her nose. The next day she went to work looking Asian on the "bee side" from all the swelling. A full-face helmet would have avoided that happening.

Full face here... I remember an old Bell Helmet Ad that said,"If you have a 10 dollar head then wear a 10 dollar helmet" I never forgot that ad.
