After seeing the toyhauler recently listed for sale, I figured here must be others out there that have some neat way of hauling their Spyder and also having some living facilities. Below are a few pics of the one I built. Sorry, I don't have any pics of the Spyder in the back garage, but there is my Seadoo jet boat!
It only took four years and two trips to the emergency room.
Let the questions begin!
You can tell by all the tools and junk in the one pic that this was built in my driveway and when it starts snowing in northern Ohio, you just tend to throw everything inside out of the weather and dance around it until the spring thaw comes....
The wife and I are thinking about traveling a bit in the future with either our bikes or spyder. We are currently deciding between either a truck/toyhauler combo or a class C motorcoach with trailer. I'm leaning towards the latter, since the trailer ramp is lower than the ramp angles in some of the toyhaulers we've seen and the overall length might be shorter.

Here are a couple more pics. That is a custom graphics wrap on the exterior. Used to be all black. I have been asked to build one for a buddy....ain't gonna happen! Many hours and many trips to Elkhart, IN to get parts from the surplus stores. This thing is just a Spyder...we have to give tours and answer questions wherever we go. I am usually asked what I am hauling. My usual response is "radioactive waste" or "go-go girls". That gets me some strange looks.

Nice job. very nice! What is the weight and what do you pull it with?
Been asked several times what I do for a living. Well, I have been a full-time police officer for 26 years. I also am the director of operations for a company that does crime scene and trauma clean-up, bio-hazard removal, meth lab remediations, mass lead abatement and a bunch of other really neat things. I also do upfits on emergency vehicles (radio & light installs). I was a mechanic at a large GM dealer before I got into all of that other stuff. My degree is in automotive engineering, but mostly I am just a guy that likes to make something out of nothing. People tell me that I am a few fries short of a happy meal....they just might have something there
