Got the Spyder stripped down for the paint job and the nekid Spyder is making me nervous! The shop is telling me not to be nervous. How can I not be nervous? My baby doesn't have clothes on! I just hope that the bike and trailer are finished up for Spyderfest! It's going to be beautiful! The color is currently Pure Magnesium (2012). The new color will be an awesome candy apple red!
I am not far from ya. Would love to see it in person after.
No problem! Would love to show it to you when it's complete! My plan was to have the bike in the shop during the winter months but we haven't had a winter here and I didn't want to put the bike up if I could still ride comfortably. I finally 'gave it up' so I could have it back for Spyderfest!
Did you undress it yourself or did the paint shop do it?

Brought Spyder to paint shop and a friend undressed the Spyder at the shop. The friend (Spyder owner) is also a friend of the owner of the paint shop so it worked out perfectly.
All of these nekkid Spyders... My heart just can't take it! Candy Apple Red We're gonna need to see about a zillion pictures of that when you've found all of the parts and nailed it all back together!
how long before its out of the paint shop?and if you don't mind how much did it cost?
The bike has been at the shop for about a month. I'll probably have it back in about a month. Most of the time has been spend on disassembly. The paint is custom color. Not a traditional candy apple red car color. Couldn't find the exact color on a car to match to get a color code. It was either stop sign red (like the viper red color), eggplant color, or to much of a brick color. To be honest, about a year ago went for a ryde and I forgot my sunglasses at home so we stopped at a truck stop to get a pair and I found the perfect color on a pair. Bought them and made up my mind that this was the color that I wanted the bike painted! So I'm painting my bike to match my sunglasses! lol The cost.....$2800. Bike only - not sure about trailer yet.

Yeah red is a funny color. "Red" is not just "Red". A tinge of brown in the mix can give it one type shade. A tinge of orange another and so on. Red has many different versions. Nothing wrong in matching it to sunglasses. When you find the the right one you like you have to do what you have to do. I bet it is going to look awesome. Are you doing a metallic in the paint?
