Gear Position Sensor
Gentlemen, I think my GPS needs to be replaced as its causing problems with messages on the dashboard such as check engine , and stop etc. I have searched for the posts on replacing this but cant seem to find it. Anyone any ideas as to where it is please. Also, did anyone have to have the computer reset after fitting a new switch?
Thanks for any help

Behind...
If this is like most, it will be behind the engine cover reading off the shift drum. Are you sure they don't fail much. If your indicator is showing proper gear it is working. It's a contact disk only. I am not sure have not worked on these engines yet but you should have some posts soon from those that know.

Mike,
Could you get him to scribble down how he replaced it, and relay it on to the rest of us?
Thanks!

Here's my thread from 2009... has a few pictures in it. It's kind of long but read through it.
