Mailed directly to you, or did you hear this at the dealership?

Must be a Canadian thing. Maybe they have to go through the dealership up there. I can't see why they would pay a dealer to do a one minute job.

Put the new caps on. They do seem to have a tighter fit. A little more effort is needed to get them to "click". The new cap is larger and beefier. I'll post pics.

Caps turn clockwise to close in the USA. In Canada they turn counter-clockwise.

Was your recall, that requires a visit to the dealer, for the fuel cap or for the rerouting of the vent hose coming from the evaporator canister?

Bob, I had to find a knife to open the boxes, then find the keys to the Spyders and walk down the steps to the garage. Insert key, raise seat, remove old cap, pick old cap up after dropping it, install new cap and close seat. That was on the wifes Spyder. Operation went smoother on my Spyder, I didn't drop the cap. I think the one minute for the dealer to do it is conservative. You'd probably have to leave it for three days for them to fit it in the schedule.

I received the new cap today also. My installation was easier as I already had the seat up with the battery tender on.
It will definately get the road test this weekend, sunny with temps in the mid 70"s.

Yup, same here. Lot more effort to get it to click and a lot beefier. I now wonder if the hot weather gas smell will go away now. Warm here this weekend as well. I shall see.

I haven't received mine yet but am wondering how easy it will be with the larger gas cap to get it on/off through the Ultimate seat fuel door. Anyone try yet?

Did they send it via first class or priority mail? I've got standard mail forwarding while in FL for the winter. Hopefully the USPS with forward.

Re: New Fuel Caps
I may have missed some earlier posts but why are the caps being changed? To the best of my knowledge we have never been informed about any recalls for anything here in New Zealand. Maybe we get 'special' Spyders that are always perfect?
