My dealer said varying speed and gears first 1000km. Shift above down above 4000 and up at 5000 RPM and don't judge until you have riden it at least 1000 miles. He was right on all counts.

You can always do what I did , a burnout right in front of the dealer. Just kidding, but it burn the tire all first gear. It must be the shipping compound on the tire.

For my 2010 it said:
Page 44-45 of Owners Manual / Operators Guide
"during first 200 miles avoid hard braking"
during the first 600 miles,
Avoid full throtle acceleration.
Avoid prolonged riding.
"If the cooling fan operates continuously during stop and
go traffic, pull over and shut off the engine to let it cool off
or speed up to let air cool off the engine."
also read the warning at top of page 45.

I don't know where you are getting your spyder from, however, when I bought mine down in Kissimmee, I took 192 to 27 then 27 to 19 and picked up 10 just east of Tally. That way I did vary the speed for the first 250 miles of my trip and then put it in cruise at 72 once on the highway for the trip to pcola

I like this guy. He has built a lot of engines and his method works every time. But he still gets a lot of grief.
