    Default Exhaust gaskets?

All you high milers, when your exhaust gaskets went bad were there any codes thrown by the computer. I know on most cars with an exhaust leak before O2 sensor, codes will show up due to false mixture. Just curious to see if this happened and if a way to tell if its leaking before a full blowout. Default no codes

mine just started running bad. occasional backfire, cracking and popping, in the 4k rpm range. turns out just the right side clamp was loose. i put in honda gaskets anyway, to be done with it. happy ending.
it was fun while it lasted.

Is there a specific Honda gasket? Perhaps a part number?

Had the right side gasket burn out at around 7-8k. No codes thrown, just poor performance and a very hot right leg. At 31k now with the Honda gaskets and going good.

Hope the RT crowd finds a good non-OEM replacement...

I know the RS gasket will not fit the RT but is there another gasket number to replace it. After market one?

There is none that I know of. The RT gaskets are far more robust, however, so the factory gaskets have not been a problem. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It is my understanding that BRP actually looked into the exhaust gasket issue and made improvements based on all of us who were changing to the Honda gaskets on our GS Spyders.

I believe you are talking about the actual MUFFLER GASKET ? ??..If so the Honda gasket is only for the smaller exhaust pipes......Mike

You need to use the BRP gasket. There is no Honda equivalent for the muffler gasket.

No need for an injection of Honda DNA in this case.
