Radio antenna will not tight down, what is a good replacment?
My stock radio antenna was replaced when they replaced the radio several months ago due to power drain with key off. I noticed yesterday that my AM stations were getting poor reception suddenly so I check the anntenna and it was loose so I turned it clockwise by hand and realized it never tightens now but spins. I doubt the threads are stripped and assuming it is just the arial has anyone upgraded from the factory one that is an improvement? I will contact my dealer and let him know what is going on but in case I decide to go another route?
Thanks for any help

The replacement from Custom Dynamics is better than the OEM. Also try a little Lock Tite on the threads. It fixed mine when it kept coming loose.

I checked it out last night and the actual carbon fiber aerial has seperated from the brass base. It was crimp fitting and it appears vibration ate away at the crimp. I want something about the same height and black, I don't care for the shorties.
I like to listen to local talk show that is on AM.

My antennas (notice the s on antenna) broke off going through OK. I replace it with the Custom Dynamics shortie. I even using one for the CB and working great (radio and CB).

AM requires a good antenna, FM works on mine even without the broken antenna in place. I am speaking with the dealer to see if they will cover it underwarranty as it is a failure at the crimp.
