Is anyone here any good with image editing? I'd like to begin considering some wraps, but I'd like to see how they might look on my spyder before I bug pete about them.

I'm giving the Pixelmator evaluation a try.
I was trying for something more flowing and elegant, but the angular nature of the rt gives it more of a Iron Man appearance. Instill like it, but I can't find a look near the frunk I'm really happy with.

Looking good, one suggestion try coloring the front above the frunk below the windscreen red, might flow down towards then center of the frunk better

Another attempt. liking the front much better. trying to decide whether or not to colorize the entire lower panel, or sweep it up like i have here. This isn't the right photo angle to really see how that looks.

Thats looks perfect to me, I would leave the lower as is a good balance.
The only thing I would play with are the front fenders, they look good as they are but what would they look like if the outer half was red and inner half was silver. Might be too much but as its just an image you can test to see.
Looking very classy.

I don't know what you're doing, or how you're doing it; but DANG!!!

Thats looking pretty cool. I have the Pearl White RT and sure would like to know what website your using. I've been looking at everything I can find to come up with an idea for personalizing mine and just afraid to take that plunge without seeing it on a spyder first. If someone could direct me to a website for this, it would be appreciated.

No website. I took a photo of my Spyder and started editing it.
Unfortunately, my wife isn't liking the new look. Not that I'm super happy with it either, just showing off what I've managed in the editing department.

Awesome
I think it looks Great!!
Maybe your wife will like a flat black instead of the shiny silver. That maroon red would look sick with matte black.
Or you could always use the flat neutron green and flat black 2012 RSS color scheme. I would love to see what an RT would look like in green.

Pixelmator?? Is this something that needs to be purchased, or are you taking some downloaded version for just a test spin?
I see all sorts of fun with something like that!

There is a 30 day fully functional evaluation. I believe it is mac only.
However, unlike photoshop, the full version is only about 15$
Heres the same pattern in charcoal gray.

Silver is the actual color of my machine.

I like either color combo. A word of caution if you're thinking about doing this with vinyl wrap - the RT has a lot of curves and the vinyl can be 'challenging' to work with. If you're a patient person, you can do it easily by taking your time and following Pete's instructions. I'm a perfectionist and it took me about 4 days to complete the stripes on my RT - I did a section at a time and wanted to be sure I did it right by not working myself to exhaustion and becoming impatient. Good luck with whatever color you choose - it's gonna look great!

Justin, I was going to offer to help, but looks like you're doing pretty good on your own. I love both color combinations, but you'll find that a wrap will be very difficult to apply on some of those areas.
BTW, I love the steampunk gear see-through deal. That's pretty awesome.

I could still use the help. This is about the limit of my ability. for the coloration above, i made a layer, tiled a sparkly candy apple red image then applied an image mask to that layer to only show the section i painted and applied some transparency. For the gray, same as above, but desaturated the tiled red layer.
the steampunk was a simple cut, paste, and rotate, and certainly not the final way I'd want it to look. Just a quick hack job to get the idea.

Well, I'm pretty good at basic photo editing stuff. I use Corel Photoshop Pro.

Now, should I do a wrap... Or get a transparent side panel and put a inch or REAL gears behind it, connected to a small motor so they all actually turn and stuff?
-
Real gears
My vote is for a clear side panel with working gears behind it.
