Day Twentyseven Cheyenne to Alaska and return
Still enroute to Bellingham, another day of relaxing and reading. No doubt about it when the channel is calm you can't help but enjoy the scenry and relax. Strolled around the deck a little more today and was surprised to see so many tents pitched on the observation deck, instead of the normal driving the stakes in the ground everyone with a tent was holding the tent down with duct tape. The tents were being used by singles, couples and even familys; the neat thing about them was there is no charge to pitch a tent so all people had to do was pay walkon fare and then sleep or whatever in their own private tent. To put this in the proper perspective the four of us shared a cabin(for four) and that cabin cost us $594 in addition to the walkon fare plus what we paid for the bikes. The walk on fares people had all of the same ammenities except they slept in a tent and not in a double bunk. If I ever get to do this again I'm going to seriously consider a tent, I did it at Cuba for Spyderfest why not on the ferry? Another good day for whale watching, it became a little comical watching the passengers race from side to side when the whales were around, got to get one more picture. The ferry has a nice movie theatre however when the movie is showing you have to put up with the sound being interrupted about every ten minutes for announcements, a real pain. Got to stay up late playing cards and they still wouldn't let me win. Looking forward to disembarking tomorrow, starting to pack, where did all this stuff come from?

Tenting on the ferry is a economical was to go. Met a little old lady tenting. Said she visits the lower 48 once a year, and she's done it for quite a while. There's some tough people in Alaska!

If you don't slow down, they can't catch you..
If you don't give up, they can't win.
What a long strange journey its been.
