    Default Rear shock replacement question

I need a new rear shock. My question is what is the difference between the rear shock on the RS and the RS-S? The RS shocks are listed as not available until Aug. 15, but the RS-S shock is available (I have an '08 GS/RS). Anyone know?

I have a 08 gs and recently purchased a stage one Elka with preload adjuster. I am not happy with this purchase as the set up is very stiff and has not improved the ride for my passenger. I am currnently in contact with John from Elka to resolve this issue. As I was told BRP changed the shock mounting points on the 2010 and newer spyders to accomidate a shock with longer travel. This mayber why you are seeing different part numbers.

Does any one out there have a good set up for an Elka rear on an 08 GS?
