    Default Thank You

As a brand new Spyder owner, I have been reading quite a bit on this forum and I want to thank you all for your sharing your knowledge. I was especially interested in the subject of RPM's for shifting, especially at 55 mph.

I am 59 and I have had my endorsement for 3 years.I purchased a Yamaha which turned out to be a "painful" experience. I was beginning to think I would be a passenger on the hubby's HD forever..

I have had my Spyder for 5 weeks now and have 676 miles on it. She is going in for her checkup this weekend. I drove it home the first day which was about a 64 mile drive. Hubby was right behind me the whole way. I think I laughed and giggled the whole 64 miles !

    Thank you again..RD

Thank you. For awhile now I have been wondering about that 55mph range as she seems to lug, but I was a little concerned when I down shifted and the revs went to 4500. I wear ear plugs when we are on the freeway and this may sound weird, but the motor sounded happier.

    Thanks Again

The Dos and Donts thread is extremely helpful. I just rode for an hour and tried to follow all suggestions, biggest being gearing up. I actually never came to 5th and was cruising between 43 & 52 mph. Amazing! The reaction from this bike, is just unbelievable. I kept the foot of the brake pedal, which was a bit nerve racking at first, but then became natural.mi downshifted as explained and I took curves exactly as it was written. This forum is great for all riders, especially us "newbies". So, thanks from me as well!

Been ryding for a year now - doesn't seem possible. I never rode anything before and didn't think I would ever get the 'hang' of shifting, riding, etc. But, it's almost second nature to me now!! Enjoy all your seat time. Everyone has been great to me in helping me gain more confidence and telling me I could do it! Ryde safe!
