I don't see anything offensive with the subject matter, but suppose those who are offended also don't watch much TV and see how many ED commercials are shown. This guy has a legitimate health issue that could result in a discovery that he may not be the only one this happened to. Wouldn't you want your riding buddies to know about this if it were in fact a legitimate claim??
It's not like I posted this in the General Forum, but if it gets removed then it gets removed....

There were 2 other threads, not 1, that were removed.

Removal may have had something to do with the comments made.

That would make sense. Although I would think that the comments could be removed rather than kill the entire thread.
    Thanks for the warnings.

    Thanks for the warnings.

I think in some cases its better to remove the entire thread than to just single out a few offending posts. Only way to know for sure is if the moderator tells why it was removed.

Back to the issue: Why would you sue the manufacturer of a product that you have modified with aftermarket parts?
Are they just throwing lots of mud against the wall and hoping that some of it will stick somewhere??

The way I read it, it appears as though the bike was sold with the Corbin seat.

But if BMW didn't put it there... At best, the "injured" party might consider action against whomever he bought it from...

The article doesn't provide enough information. This is the first time I have heard of this type of 'injury' and would be curious to know how it gets settled. Seems like he might also be able to sue his doctor for not being able to alleviate his discomfort after so long, but I'm no expert in that 'region'.

Pretty standard practice isn't it Bob? File against anyone who ever walked by the bike....gotta be a 'deep pocket' out there somewhere!

From a medical point of view this is not possible. Nerve damage due to excessive pressure on the indicated portion of the rider would cause exactly the opposite reaction with a loss of function. This is very common in bicycle racers due to the extreme riding position. The effects are usually short term with no long term persistence.

With the above in mind sounds like the rider is looking for a payday from either BMW or Corbin

Sounds to me like he had a Russell Day Long instead of a corbin.

Why not just change the seat and alleviate the problem?

I agree; just the opposite would happen. I used to mountain bike and I read articles about what you said. I ended up buying a seat with a V groove cut from the back of the seat; the small part of the V was in the middle of the seat, which alleviated undue pressure.

It's pretty vague about how long he rode... but you'd think he would have at least bought a cushion or something.

Next thing ya know, somebody else will sue because they didn't get the same result from their bike...
