Default Mean City Cycles Seat mods for RTs ?

Has anyone used Mean City Cycles (near Hickory NC) to improve the stock seat on an RT ?
If so can you show us some pics and details as to which option (foam, gel, etc) you selected.

I used them and they do great work. They installed a Utopia backrest and removed some padding so I could slide back and down a little. I did not want to add a gel pad since this would raise the seat height which was the oppostie of what I wanted. The also have three Harleys in the showroom that they have done work on that you can take a look at. If you are going with a Utoapia backrest I would order it through them -you save on shipping fees.

Default Not available for RTs !

A call to them was interesting. They have modified several RS seats in the past, but looked at an Spyder RT seat once and found they could not easily do their type of mods on this seat. So they are not even considering the RT now.

The email I got back said the same thing. There is a rod across the RT with "hog rings" that preclude them from modifying an RT seat. Allen said it took a special devise to attach new rings and they aren't at this time going to invest in it. So, no mods on RT seats by them.

Mean City has done seats for both my Triumph and Harley. They are outstanding people to deal with. Both times I rode to Maiden, NC on a Saturday and they serviced my seats while I went to breakfast down the street.
If you plan to show up at the shop you will need to make an appointment about 2 weeks in advance.
