Everything starts up fine, except the motor
It wont even try to turn over, after i hit the M button I press start and all i can hear is a faint almost wining noise, fuel pump maybe? I have only ridden it twice now since i bought it am i missing something obvious? Its a 09 SE5 and it says its in first gear, i hold the brake when trying to start it. Any suggestions? Or did i just buy a lemon? Also its a brand new battery i just put it in fully charged, and all posts are tight.

Pull the key out and put it back in. Try the other mode button if your machine has it. Mine does.

Kill switch off, and foot on brake?

My first thought is also the kill switch. Big red toggle button on right handlebar

Does the legal message stop scrolling when you push the M button? Use the mode button on the left handlebar, not the one on the instrument cluster.

Yes, I have never used the one on the instrument cluster.
Love my
Statistics show that most motorcycle accidents are caused by a defective nut holding the handlbars.

If you are in first gear, is the clutch in ? Or put it in neutral.
-
Not the kill switch, or the brake and its the automatic so no clutch handle.

You need to have your foot on the brake to start an SE5 if it's in gear.

Before you do that carefully read the owners manual step by step and try one last time.
Hindle exhaust, Kewlmetal K&N intake + prefilter, Kuryakyn widow pegs, Kuryakyn grips, Madstad 20in. windshield, Juice Box, 02Modifier, Kewlmetal backrest and carrier, missing air dam, missing belt shield, 1" riser, Kewlmetal handlebar risers,Evoluzione sway bar, Street Magic/Day Runner Pucks, Glo Riders Amsoil, 10w40, Rons performance wires

I'm betting on battery or battery connections. Do you have a charger ?

Couldnt stand it anymore so I had her towed
Thanks for all the tips/ideas... But unfortunately none of them worked. She is at Bert's Mega Mall in Covina now. Oh and on a bright side I found out that she has the B.E.S.T warranty from the previous owner that transferred over. The tow was free! and depending on what is wrong I may get out of this without another hit to the wallet!

Blown Fuse
Turns out it was a blown fuse in the brake system so the computer was unaware that it was being pressed.

Now the question is, "What blew the fuse?"

I had a similiar thing happen
After a couple of months of owning my 2011 RS SE5 last year, the same thing happened.
I turned the key, full power on the console and when I tried to start it........ nothing.
Not even a click. Everyone recommended the battery and/or connection. The bike was brand new.
My dealer - Bob's Ski Doo in Easton MA recommended checking the fuses. I did have a fuse for the rear lights
that was out but after replacing it, the bike would still not start.
What did fix it was re-seating (taking out and putting back in) all the fuses and components in the fuse panel in
the front trunk. Not sure if it just needed a rebooted like a computer but after I re-seated the modules the bike started.
I did post this on this BB when it happened but it's hard to find info if you not sure where to look.
Good luck and safe riding
Mark
