GM is adding a new product line to my plant during that time frame. If I can get away, we would love to come down.

Since I've never been to the area, suggestions on motels/hotels would be great.

That sounds like a good date. My only suggestion is that if the BBQ could be on the 7th that would give those of us with jobs 2 days to ride home before going back to work on Monday. Just a suggestion. We will do our best to be there.

Either way we are cutting into a work day. Looks like it is a long haul for you, about 850 miles one way. It can be done in a day and if you leave after the BBQ on Sat. you can knock out a couple of hundred miles that day and the next won't be so bad. The way I have this setup is the first day we'll have a work day and maybe grill some burgers and dogs. The second day we ride and the third day will be the BBQ so if you had to you could leave on Sat and miss the BBQ but still have a good time.

To be honest I'm surprised that this is a good date for so many right off the bat.

If it was just me yes but the boss(better half) is not going to ride 650 miles in a day. We'll work it out somehow. Looking forward to it! I know this is not a small undertaking and the time frame is just not going to be perfect for everyone.

Just an FYI... (and I'm sure you know this ) Trail of Tears is on September 15th and it starts in Chattanooga. Not that I want to tell you how to plan, but maybe do the BBQ Friday before and have a bunch of 's out there...

    Default BBQ

    Hi Lamont !
My wife & I usually go to Pigeon Forge, TN in Sept. How far are you away from there? Is there somewhere we can get directions, etc? Being a new Spyder Owner this past year we would likely trailer the bike down to Pigeon Forge & go from there.
    Thanks for the help.

The wife and I just got scheduled off from work. So we are in and are all ready to book the hotel. The place I'm looking at doesnt give refunds. So I want to wait a little bit to make sure these are for sure dates.

you can commute from Pigeon Forge to Lamonts, no problem. I don't think it is over 50 or 60 miles.
