We have had USAA for 30 years and today we cancelled our motorcycles and Spyder insurance with them and went with Progressive. While we were at our local agents office my husband called USAA as the Progressive quote for the 3 motorcycles and the Spyder was less than half of what USAA charged. They transferred him to their Progressive rep and he was not able to match the price of our local agent.

Back in 2008 when I bought my Spyder, I had a hell of a time trying to get insurance, as the SPYDER was not recognized as a motorcycle, come to the rescue the salesman. Jevco was the answer, been with them ever since. Conviently enough , now my current other ins, comp, really want's my business for the spyder as well. POUND SALT, THANK,YOU.

Believer plus have a dedicated Spyder section on their web site. I think they go through Jevco.

They quoted me $1065 per year for a new RT-S in southern Ontario.

Today I got a 12 month quote from Geico, not my favorite company, and their quote for a 2011 Spyder RT and a 2008 Harley Heritage Softail was $416.34 total for both bikes. Coverage is $250K/500K Bodily injury, $100K Property damage, comp. and coll. $1000 deductable, towing, Optionall bike coverage of $2000.00. To compensate for no Uninsured motorist I purchace stacked coverage on my auto policy. Seems like a great rate, what say Y'all?

My wife's insurance went down a little
Last year she paid $1047 for her STL. This year it was $957. When I looked at the policy, it was $600 just for the accident benefits alone. PLPD, Comprehensive and Colission made up for the other $357. We are really getting hosed here in Ontario.

There is no such thing as an average Spyder owner!
Penny and Rick have owned many motorcycles starting in 1974 with Honda’s, then to Suzukis, Gold Wings and ultimately Spyders.
‘74 Honda 360T (pair); ‘78 Suzuki GS 1000 (pair); ‘’82 Honda Aspencade; ‘84 Honda 400; ‘87 Yamaha 1100; ‘99 Honda Valkyrie; ‘01 Suzuki Burgman(triked); ‘02 Honda GL 1800(triked); ‘10 Spyder RTSE; ‘11 Spyder RTSM; ‘12 Spyder RTSL (pair); ‘20 Spyder RTL (current)

no options
$836 for April 1 to October 31. This includes registration and insurance. An additional $150 a year to cover the months the bike is not on the road. This is for $100 deductible and million dollars liability. This includes a 15% good driver discount. In my Province it doesn't matter how old you are or how long you have been driving. Comes down to safety rating discount for years of incident free driving. 15 % being the maximum discount. We can't shop around. The Provincial Govt has the monopoly.

I paid for the insurance for my wife's Spyder on April 1 and I still have not received the insurance slip. I only have the temporary one and it runs out in a couple of weeks. Never had such slow service from any other insurance company.

mine is with jevco also. first year (september 2010) was $1549. and i had only written my test two days before.
i then took the mc course two weeks later.
no discounts immediately upon passing the course(unlike other insurers), but the second year is $1000. i did some online comparisons, and so far jevco has the best price for me.

2011 RTS se5 with complete BRP chrome pkg etc. etc. 65 with clean record. $2500 deductible for both collision and comprehensive. Total premium for the RTS was $ 750.00. Local Insurance Company (AXA General Insurance) unavailable outside of this Province.
Incidentally, the price of the new RT was JUST above the entry point of the next category up from the 2009 RS se5 that I had on the same policy. It had C & C deductibles of $1000 ea. The total premium for the RS was $ 626.00.
The combined premium for both RT and RS was $1376.00 !
I am reasonably happy with both premiums, especially considering the next best that I was able to get locally ranged from $1600 to $2600 each !!!!
Good Luck with your hunt.
Regards....
