Not about a Spyder
Okay, I know this is not about a Spyder, but with all you smarter than me people I hope you can help me. My wife has a 150 cc scooter that she did not ride for about 6 months. It has almost a full tank (all 3/4 gallon) of gas. After I took care of the battery problem it wont stay running unless I give it gas, and dies when I let it go into idle. I am thinking it might be that the gas went bad, but not sure. I am planning on draining the gas out and replacing it with fresh gas, and a fuel cleaner to clean the carburetor. Do you think I am on the right track? Thank you for any help.

Drain the old gas for sure and flush the tank. You may have to remove and clean the carb and lines. Usually when the gas forms shellac you have to disassemble and clean the carb.

Sounds like the pilot jet to me. The pilot jet controls your idol, thats why you have to give it gas to keep it running. Just clean the pilot jet and change out the gas and I bet it will run fine.

Thank you for the advice, and it looks like I was on the right track. I will drain the tank and put in carburetor cleaner. Hope this does the trick.
