Chasing some sport bikes down Mt Lemon.
A quick video of me trying to keep up with a couple of sport bikes while on my RT, on Mt Lemon, on the outskirts of Tuscon AZ.

The road looks really neat. I've never been out in your part of the country and that needs to be corrected!

Next time, don't be so easy on them...

Did the RT scare them so bad that they ran away and hid?

Might have been the camera angle, but it looked like you crossed the centerline a few times. Not really my comfort zone. FWIW, I don't think you're likely to catch a skilled rider on a real sports bike, even if you were to ryde a properly suspended RS, but as you say, you were "trying", and trying can be fun. Just so a fellow stays within his skill level. Great scenery, BTW!

Glad you enjoyed it. I've lived in Tucson for 30+ years and never tire of the Mt Lemmon ride. Sometimes on the Spyder, sometimes on the BMW, but always great. I don't try to keep up with anyone though. Way too easy to launch yourself into space. Generally about 45mph is comfortable... brisk, but non-puckering speed.

The wife and I just did that ride a few weeks ago. The only thing I don't like is that its 2 lane traffic. The view is great and you have a couple of places to pull off and take pictures at. You should try Yarnell mountain. It is outside Wickenburg up here in the valley and it divided 4 lanes all the way up to the top. There is also a great place for B-fast up at the top. Once up there you can continue and head in the back way to Prescott through the mountains or just head back down and back into the valley. Maybe we should try and get a AZ Spyder ride locally? A thought any ways to kick around. Nice video.

Remember driving the Mt. Lemmon road when part of it was dirt. Looks like they improved it in the last 50 years. By the way, don't try going down the back side of the Mt. unless it has been improved as it used to be 4 wheel drive only and than only in good weather.

Still closed for the winter, and as long as you have reasonable ground clearance, you can make it in a 2wd pickup or SUV. Only 4wd if it's been raining and/or some lingering snow. I've done it several times on my BMW GS (not your nimble off road machine by any measure), but wouldn't try it on the Spyder.

Next visit, you need to explore 191. Gets fun at Morenci, you can cross over to New Mexico and head home on 180 I believe.
In the twisties I was playing the tart...
