Just replaced my rear tire with a Kuhmo.Followed the video that Lamont made. Worked great and everything lined up great. The frist time I put it together I forgot the large O ring and had to do it all over. The spyder now rides like a new one. Thanks Lamont.

Way to go Bob! I'm probably going to have to replace my front tires before our trip in September. The trip to Lake Placid really took a toll on my right front. Not sure what brand I'm going to use.

The Kumho comes in the same size as the stock tire. Discount Tire has them for around $80.00. They may or may not be able or willing to mount it for you. I had to have mine done at a motorcycle shop. Also, they probably won't be able to balance it for you so you will want to put RideOn in it.

    Hey Bob

Where did you get the tire changed and where they able to balance it. Lot of satisfaction in doing your own wrenching !

    Default Tire change

The rim will sit on a tire changer the same as a car rim to take the tire off and put a new one on but I think the center hole (wheel bearing) is to small to fit the car balancing machine once the new tire is on. BRP or even another bike shop might have a balancer made to fit the motorcycle rims for spin balancing. I read that some are using a liquid balancer with some success. Spyder dealers are told NOT to install car tires and if you sell your Spyder can not get a DOT safety with car tires on.

That would be IF they're looking that close at the bike during the inspection...

You are right about looking close and I have looked at car tires and some tread patterns are the same as the Kenda, well almost. I would think trading a Spyder in would be easier then selling it yourself and getting a DOT Safety done. The dealer would be interested in mileage and condition so a walk about it about all they would do.
