    Default dps code

while riding last week ,my dps code came on twice.i stopped to see what the symbol meant when it came on.After starting the engine the code cleared.About an hour later it came back on and this time it also had the message --limp home--and the power was reduced to top speed of 57 mph.the dealer said the readout showed it had only came on once and they couldn't get it to come back on.this could be a bad thing if it happens on the interstate.has anyone else had this problem and what was the fix?

Roger's given you several good directions in which to look!
Battery connections: the DPS is the single largest electrical drain on the bike... If the system isn't up to snuff; it's most likely going to surface here.
Riding the brake pedal can cause the darndest things to light up on the screen...
Broad, sweeping curves (The really FUN ones! ) have been known to upset things in the steering department. Sometimes you've got a sensor that's just a little bit out of sync with the program, and this sets them off...
