Summer Deflector Removal
Anyone remove their RT air deflectors under the mirrors for summer riding. How did it work out. I Need more air.
-
Yes, works just like you are thinking it will. Flow more air pass your knee's and hip's. Cheers!

Took mine off last year, didn't bother to put them back on. Winter ryding isn't cold enough here. The service manager went nuts trying to find them after doing the recalls and upgrades.
Now that they've been off for a year, I realize I still need more air!

If thats not enough air, try this. It works great for me.

I have mine off and I have the Baker air wings, that combination is working great this summer. I wear an Aerostich jacket year round and now get enough air to have the jacket inflate at about 45 mph, I look like the Michlan man.

So do I and I don't wear any jacket. LOL.
I took my deflectors off helped a bit but not magic. I would have to assume the bakers would deflect air where you want it and would be a big help. I may look into those.

By removing them; are any fasteners being taken out of the equation that really ought to be holding things in place??? Obviously those babies bolt right through the bodywork...

I would prefer to have a Goldwing style windscreen vent that I could open and adjust however I would like for air flow.

I put the bolts right back, that way I know where they are and they still hold the tupperware in place.

Gonna be 90+ all week mine are off in the am.... and....
Took the air deflectors under the Spyder mirrors off today, 2 screws each. Added a washer to each when screws were replaced. Should let lots more air get to us. Like the cleaner look with them off. About a 1 min job to put them back on for cold weather if required. I think they may be off for good.
