    Default Optimum RPMs and Shifting

We have a 2008 RS MS5, what is the optimum RPM range for shifting? I have not been able to find anything that says you should be shifting with-in this range for each gear for the best performance.

we just had a thread about this yesterday. There is one post in there that tells you when he shifts. Keep in mind RT's and RS's are different. Link below.

RS does not like being below 5000 rpm and is just starting to come alive at that point. Rest just depends on what you wanna do. Aggressive accelerating or cruise.

I just shift by feel/ear, been doing it that way for 40 + years. My VTX 1800 didn't even have a Tachometer. When you really think about it the only thing you need a tachometer is for amusement or to set the idle speed, And you can't even do that [idle speed] with the Spyder.

Hey DOC, Where did you find that graph? It looks like it has other interesting info on it.

That is one thing I always forget to ask for when they hook my Spyder to BUDS. I need to pin a note to my shirt next time I go to the dealer for something.
