Default What brand of oil do you use?

It is about time for my 6000 mile oil change, and I was thinking about ordering a filter from BajaRon. For my 3000 mile oil change I went to the dealer for the oil and filter. But it would be nice if I didn’t have to go to the dealer every time I needed oil. It’s not that far, it is just out of my way and I rarely go his direction.
Anyway what do you guys think is the best non-BRP oil? And can you get it at a place like Wal-Mart, cycle shop ect?

Stay away from Mobil 1. Now has SM rating which is a no no for Spyder Clutch... Formulation didn't change, but the label did. I ran Mobil 1 for over 6000 miles with no negative impact, but others have had clutch slippage.

I use Castrol 4T Synthetic 5w40 from CycleGear.... not to say I wouldn't use others, but that's the easiest for me to buy.

As for the peanut butter.... Crunchy all the way.

    Default castrol was cooler

I tried amsoil first because it was more expensive but took it out after one week and switched to castrol 4t because of running hotter with amsoil, now castrol synthetic is all I use in all my vehicles

I am going to do the 600 mile with royal purple http://www.royalpurple.com/ I have done some research and I narrowed it down to this and AMS. I am going to run it with Lucius product full synthetic.

    Default Synthetic Oil

I run synthetic in my Toyota truck, Nissan truck and John Deere LT 150. My long time mechanic back in TN advised me to use it and it seems to work fine. Has anyone used synthetic in the Spyder SE 5?

Yes sir no problems what so ever i used mobil 1 4t and amsoil you can not go wrong with either one of these as long as you put the correct viscosity in it and it meets brp spects.

    Wink

We decided to throw in the towel and just use Can Am's stuff. Tired of all the drama. Oil is a lot like politics. Sadly Political decisions are every two years, Oil is every few weeks

I kind of go my own way, I started out with The Can Am full syn, Then Spectrum full syn, Next Mobil racing 4T full syn, Now Amsoil full syn.
I think i might stick with the Amsoil. The filters i get from my dealer,
and sometimes the oil too. I ride 160 miles round trip to my dealer for the filter, I love the ride.
I can get the oil and filter 10 miles from me but like i said i love the ride.

    Not yet,
How many gallons does the tank hold, and your mpg, also do you get excess heat from the right side,
And if i tighten my battery connections will that solve all problems. [including world hunger]

Let's not forget: what aftermarket exhaust is best or do you have?
